1. "Oh," Siler said, and backed out quickly, offering a fervent prayer that Colonel Carter and Vala had been too busy to notice his presence.

At least this time he hadn't walked into any doors.

2. "You're going to have fun taking this off of her," the clerk winked as she wrapped up Vala's (slightly extravagant) lingerie purchase.

Sam blushed. Vala beamed.

3. "So is this a special occasion?" the hostess asked as she led them to their table. "Anniversary, maybe?"

Sam caught the slightly panicked expression that flitted across Vala's face, and put a reassuring hand on her arm. "It's just a date," she told the hostess, and felt Vala relax beneath her hand.

4. "I had no idea the two of you..." Cam said when he came to visit her in the infirmary ( ... )
