Very cool. The beginning is lovely, the way Cam looks up John and then hesitates even though he's not in the Air Force, and the way John actually managed to find some sort of peace outside of the Air Force (though he still prefers to avoid all emotional conversations). I really like the way John gets worked into the events of the movie--how they justified including him in the mission and how he handled it, and the reactions from Jackson and Carter (and oh, isn't it too bad they won't remember!). Should make for a nicer ten years for Cam, too.
This was great, oh anonymous author (heh). There's lots of nice little moments, but I especially like when Cam tells John the truth, and pretty much everything when they reunite with the team. It's good to think that Cam will have someone with him when he's stuck in the past, instead of being alone. The poor guy really seems to have bad luck with getting stranded in time
I really like how subtle this AU starts, just Cam deciding he'll spend a tiny bit of time looking someone up, no big deal, and suddenly it balloons into two people going back in time successfully. It's like the show's AUs where you know they just made one or two different choices and the whole universe split off and Teal'c stayed with Apophis because he never met Jack and it's always so interesting to me to see where they all are when there's no Stargate (or sometimes even if there is one).

Apparently John's irresistible in any universe :o)
Oh, I can't even express how much I love this. John being so broken- and without Atlantis to save him, like you said- and Cam being just as broken.
And YES YES YES to John being the one to operate the chair, if they'd gotten there! I remember watching it and going who the hell is going to actually operate the thing, because I don't believe Cam or Sam or Daniel actually HAVE the gene, and then it was a moot point anyway, but WHAT a plot hole! :D

Tell me about it! I guess there's an argument to be made for Daniel having it after his encounter with the Ancient memory storage device, but seriously - way to make it obvious that they were never going to get that far!

Yeah, kind of a combination of habits that are hard to break, and not wanting to admit that it doesn't matter any more.

Are you trying to imply I'm predicatable?! :o)

Thank you - those were pretty much my favourite parts to write.
