And this is just exactly the story I've been waiting to read since I saw Continuum - the spaces between them and between them and their real lives are heartbreakingly clear in this, and I loved the way you don't really bridge them...

Thank you! That gap is what attracted me to telling this story in the first place. I am glad you enjoyed it. :)

Like tesserae said, this is the Continuum story I've been waiting for. Not only that, but it's the D/C story I've been waiting for. Lovely and heartbreaking. It changes nothing, but then, it's not supposed to.

Thank you! I thought the same thing, that there was a story about the loss of Continuum just dying to be told. I am glad that you liked this one!

Oh, this is lovely! This is a great look at what their lives might have been like during Continuum, and beautifully written. I love Cam's desire to take Daniel home, even though they're not really boyfriends, and the way the whole relationship is implied in a few lines.

Oh, boys. That's so heartbreaking, that they only got further than awkward dating when they're about to lose it all, and how much loss they both feel for their past lives. Beautifully written, but heartbreaking.

Thank you! I was really struck by how empty that year would have been for them, in Continuum. Even without relationship stuff, they have been each other's entire lives, you know? (But then you add the relationship stuff and it is that much sadder.)

You are insanely welcome! I was actually a bit worried that you were looking for a clichefic and I was there going off in a completely different direction. But I had just rewatched Continuum and I was really struck by how sad it was and how much was there to work with. (And also that I didn't believe that those threats would really keep Cam from his team forever, if there was a way. They've broken rules backed up by threat of prison time before.)
