I'm glad to hear you're safe and well. I have family in and around Bundaberg who are still cut off, and an idiot brother on holiday around Brisbane who refuses to leave and come home early. These floods are insane.

We have floodings in Germany as well, and the water is very high in some places, turning entire towns into miniature versions of Venice, but the water comes slowly, not torrential like I've seen in the vids. I have another LJ user from Brisbane on my flist, and she has written about it shortly before your post showed up.

I keep my fingers crossed that you and Brisbane will stay safe and it doesn't get any worse. Whenever I read about such catastrophes, I barely know what to say. :o(

We're watching from over here in the west with basically our mouths wide open. It's frightening even from all the way on the other side of the country. Stay safe!

That's great news, however horrible the overall situation is. *hugs*
