"Naqqadah"

This one is inexcusable.
It stemmed from a comment I made on a fine Pegasus B story by kuwdora. I'd said, by way of nitpicking: "I don't think a person listening to a real Gouald would come up with that word ['flanged'], unless she was a heavy metal guitarist..."
And that wasn't so much a plot-bunny, as a holy-jeez-you-can't-be-serious bunny.
This is ( Read more... )

You're totally hot and sexy. ::licks story::

This? Is the COOLEST thing. OMG. I love it. I don't understand a lot of it, not being that well informed about music, but holy mother of god, I like it. It's just creative as hell and yet it works!

::cheers::

Who's ex Umbris?

Actually, I kinda know (knew) Grant... through a friend who studied with him (and/or was in a group with him, it's hard to recall details)... and I can't possibly explain all the different ways that cracks me right the hell up.

... and did you *know* about RDA's guitar-playing? Or did you just hit on that coincidentally?

This was too cool. Loved it. I'd read a series based on these guys. :D

RDA plays the guitar? Hah. No, I had no idea.

Yay! Shared experience! It's always nice when your model audience turns out to *contain* somebody. :)

:D I *can* totally see it, too. Grant has heaps of charisma, in live performance.

RDA actually even played the guitar (acoustic) on "MacGyver", in some ep the name of which is escaping me right now. And he played something that he'd written himself, too. (Apparently his dad was a jazz musician, so the musical talent isn't that far a stretch.) I think there are some scary, scary pictures out there of him back in his early 20s (way pre-mullet), in bands or on tv shows or something, but I can't recall right now where I've seen them. But always with acoustic/folk guitars, not electric.

Serendipity works for you! :)

Just stopping by because I didn't say it before: I loved this, and I don't attach to this kind of AU easily. But it does make some sense; the team-ness that I love gets carried across.

Thank you. The team was what I was thinking about (even though I know less about music performance than I do about military operations. Heh).
