Economic progress is inevitable. Ours is a well oiled machine, which many will argue is thanks to great vision & capable planning & efficient policies. I still say that its really not that great an achievement, seeing as our country is but a tiny island in the grand scheme of things. I don't think our ministers deserve to earn more than Obama does. There is just no justification at all, in my humble opinion.
What Singapore needs is political progress. We as a country, as a Nation, as a people, have long grown out of the times when we needed to be run by a dictatorship, with interests in communism, in the guise of democracy. Our citizens need to stop living in fear. Fear of the government. Fear of the police. Fear of freedom of speech.
Still, little steps I guess. 6 seats, up from the previous 2, ain't bad. One small step for proper democracy, one giant step for Singaporeans.

Not that much has been happening here anyway, but I'm surprised there was no discussion here over election fever...
