2009 Prompt Claim Rules

Oct 05, 2009 08:11

A couple of notes:

Character name spellings were corrected. If you think we were wrong, check the spelling against the Gateworld Omnipedia first. It was our go-to guide for name spellings and our resolution guide for all questions regarding Stargate canon.

We've reordered and alphabetized the prompts, so that everything people listed as, for example, "Teyla Emmagan/Elizabeth Weir" is sorted along with "Elizabeth Weir/Teyla Emmagan." Hopefully we haven't made any mistakes, but, if we have, please keep in mind there are a lot of prompts, and we're only human. If we were Replicators, this would be much easier.

Fics should be a minimum of 1000 words. There are no restrictions on other fanworks; however, if you make one single LJ icon out of a prompt, we'll all be very sad.

Should you finish your prompt prior to the posting period, and wish to take an additional prompt, please post your completed fanwork to the moderation queue, then come back to this post, and claim a second prompt. Lather, rinse, repeat. Any time you finish a fan work and post it to the moderation queue, you can pick something else.

We'll turn the moderation queue off for the duration of the posting period.

Please review the 2009 rules & timeline post before asking any questions. You can ask questions there or in this post.

How to claim your prompt:

Choose your prompt. Copy the text of your prompt (with the number, if you'd like) into a comment on the post on which your prompt is listed. We've had to split the prompts up into two posts. We will reply once we've marked your prompt as claimed, and then edit the post to reflect the prompt you've claimed.

Prompts are first come, first served. No more than two prompts per person. If we suspect you're using a sockpuppet journal to claim multiple prompts, you won't be allowed to claim any prompts.

Please do not claim a prompt if you think you won't be able to finish a fanwork based on it. If you've removed a prompt from the pool of available prompts to be claimed, you're making a commitment to create something based on this prompt.

Some of the prompts are images. We make no guarantee whether any of the images are work-safe; however, we can tell you that there's nothing too explicit in there.
