A/N: Shh, I is bein’ sneaky and submitting this before the admins remember to end the challenge! -Snerk- Alright, I’ll be serious. The image of a teddy bear sitting on a bed just kinda popped into my head five seconds ago and my muse urged me to write it, the pushy thing, even though I need to write the third chapter of another story I’m working on...

Sasha flops gratefully onto her bed, her breath escaping with one great huff of air. God, it‘s been a stressful day. Well, more like a stressful month. What with the Senior Staff going missing, and then reappearing three weeks later, she’s had way too much to worry about beyond her normal duties. They were lucky that the Wraith had decided to not bother them during that time. Sasha sighs, and then turns on her side. Her gaze meets that of the overly-large teddy bear that she had brought from Earth as her personal item. Sure, there were many other things she could’ve brought, but this bear holds a special place in her heart. Her dad won it some years ago at a county fair and sent it to her while she was still in college.

Old Bear, as it was imaginatively named, has been with her ever since, travelling from Kentucky to Colorado, and then to Atlantis. She smiles, reaches out, and then pulls the bear to her, holding it close. It’s a piece of home, reminding her of warm summer nights, fireflies, and family. She wonders what her dad would think of the bear being an intergalactic traveller, not to mention her. He’d probably make some sort of joke, and then ask for postcards or something, Sasha decides. He’s silly like that. Sweet, but silly all the same.

She curls up with Old Bear, closing her eyes and letting her mind drift across the vast inter-galactic gap to a small town in Kentucky. The sounds of kids laughing, crickets chirping, and wind chimes chinking hover on the edge of her hearing as she sinks slowly into sleep,  holding onto a piece of home.
