Genficathon 2010 sign-ups
SIGNUPS ARE OPEN!
The signup period will be from now (Friday, Feb. 19) until Friday, Feb. 26 at Midnight Alaska Time (GMT -9 hours).
SIGNUPS ARE CLOSED! Assignments will be sent over the weekend of Feb. 27/28.
Please read the Rules (in the userinfo) and the changes to this year's rules before you sign up. In most ways the ficathon will work quite similarly to past years, but the most important rule change is that you may now choose to pick your own prompt or have one randomly assigned. Prompts will be non-unique; that is, several people may end up writing for the same prompt.
Stories will be posted anonymously by the mods (authors to be revealed at end of ficathon). This way everyone can play, including people who aren't on Livejournal. So please spread the word!
Sign up by copying the following template and pasting it in a comment to this post (with your information filled in, of course).

Stories are due Saturday, May 22, 2010. Posting will begin on May 24th.
If you finish your story and would like to write another, yes you can; just ask for (or choose) a new prompt and, if desired, a new genre. There's no limit to the number of stories you can write for the Genficathon. You can also send us multiple stories for the prompt you were given. (This is another change from previous years.)
If you have to drop out, please email or PM me with the following text: "I have to drop out of the SGA Genficathon. I was signed up as [your username]."
There will be no pinch hits this year. We will, however, be doing our Bonus Round at the end of the ficathon as in past years -- after all stories are posted, anyone can write a story with any of the prompts and post it. If you'd like to start working on a Bonus Round story early, go right ahead!
If you'd like to use the "choose your own prompt" option, select one of the following and include it in your signup.
