"Radek! You have to come!" Rodney yelled into the phone. "Nobody else here has half the brains you do!"

"It is very nice that you appreciate whatever brains you think I have, Rodney, but I cannot spare the time."

"I'm serious, Radek. I need someone to help me with this project, and nobody here understands what I'm talking about. You started it with me back ... before... Look, it's only for a week, two at the most! Now get here as soon as you can!" Rodney sounded so close, yet so far away.

"Rodney, I am also serious. I have work that must be finished. I have classes that must be taught-"

"Classes!" Rodney roared, "What are you doing teaching classes! Whatever, find someone else to cover them, this is more important."

Radek sighed into the phone. He would never tell him, but he missed Rodney, missed his company, and the squabbling as well. Arguing with someone on his own level was something he just didn't get to do anymore, and it made him long to be back on Atlantis and with the old team -- especially with Rodney.

"Rodney, why can't you send me the information through email. I'm sure I can-"

"No!" Rodney cut him off again. "I need you *here*. I've already gotten you clearance to come work with me here at Area 51. Now, get here as soon as you can."

Radek thought about it. He actually could get someone to cover most of his classes. The grad student he was supervising could be supervised via email and through his assistant. His research was at a point where he could pause within the next few days. But he didn't want to make this *too* easy for Rodney."

"I will look into it, Rodney. I will call you back in a couple of days and let you know what I have decided. Goodbye." With an evil grin that he was sorry Rodney couldn't see, he hung up on Rodney. He'd hopefully be back in his friend's company in a few days.

------

"No, no, you can't do it like *that*, are you insane? Has teaching made you stupider?"

"Yes, Rodney, I'm actually handing out my little gray cells to the students. Soon I will have no brain left at all."

"Ha, ha, as if anyone would be able to tell the difference, now look, if we just-" and Rodney was off again, scribbling on the whiteboard, erasing half of Radek's work in favor of his own formulas.

Radek stared for a minute, then muttered something under his breath, in Czech.

Rodney turned on him, face screwed up, and said, "I'll thank you not to talk about my mother that way!"

Radek felt himself turn beet red. Then he realized -- "Hey, wait a minute, when did you learn to speak Czech??"

The grin that suddenly appeared on Rodney's face told Radek he'd been had.

Radek took a deep breath ... and then burst out laughing. "Rodney... oh, Rodney how I have missed you."

A cascade of emotions seemed to flash over Rodney's reddening face as he stuttered, "Yes, yes, of- of course you do, now- now let's get back to work."

For a brief moment, Radek had thought maybe he could reach out to Rodney as more than a friend, but then the moment seemed to pass. They got back to work.

-----

Radek had, at Rodney's unsurprising request, come straight to work from the airport. It was 8pm and Radek had been up since the equivalent of 4am in this time zone. "Rodney, it is time to call it a night."

Rodney actually looked ashamed as he said, "Oh, of course. We should go get some dinner."

"I should stop at my hotel and check in and drop of my things," Radek pointed out.

"Don't be silly, you'll stay with me. I have a perfectly good guest room that nobody ever uses, it's not like any of the old team ever comes to visit me. I have to go to Colorado to see Sheppard or Carson, and Elizabeth doesn't even answer my calls and it's, well, it's unused, but it's clean and ... What?" Rodney tapered off his rambling monologue, as he realized Radek was looking at him with an odd look.

Radek gave him a small, shy, smile, and said, "I was just realizing how much I have missed you, Rodney."

Rodney's smile was small but there as he said, "I've missed you, too. Now let's go get some food before I pass out."

Rolling his eyes behind Rodney's back, Radek followed him out the door.

-------

"I have read that complex carbohydrates are good for hypoglycemia," Radek commented as the waiter put huge plates of pasta in front of them both.

"Huh. I guess I've heard of that somewhere, but, well." Rodney almost looked uncomfortable. "The work I do is so important. I get busy. I forget to eat. Sometimes I just eat whatever I find."

"Oh, Rodney, you must take better care of yourself," Radek said earnestly. "I worry enough about you without knowing that you are not taking care."

"You... you worry? About me?" Now Rodney did look uncomfortable, but there was something about it that made a part of Radek's heart melt.

Radek decided to tempt fate and, swallowing down a spike of fear, reached out to grab Rodney's hand. "I do worry about you, Rodney."

Rodney's response was to squeeze Radek's hand briefly -- all too briefly -- and then let it go, to return to eating his pasta.

-----

Dinner, two bottles of wine and one hour later, they were entering Rodney's house. Rodney, as usual, was babbling. "... and of course I have no idea if I'm going to stay, or how long, so it's rented, and it's not the nicest, but it came furnished, so what the heck, it's not the best but I'm ok with it and ..." and then they were inside the house. Radek surprised himself when he spun Rodney around, pushed his back flat against the door and kissed him.

He pulled back and saw the same look on Rodney's face that had been there earlier, when he'd told Rodney how much he missed him. He still wasn't sure what that look meant, but the evening, if not the wine, was making him feel brave, so he leaned in for another kiss.

This time Rodney kissed back. They were trading kisses, lips nibbling at each other, tongues occasionally touching, each time causing a tingle Radek felt go straight down his spine. He realized Rodney's hands had come up to hold him, one hand firmly holding his shoulder, the other wrapped around his waist to press them close. Radek leaned in, pushing into Rodney's body, keeping them pressed together tight, causing Rodney to groan.

Rodney pushed Radek away, with a wry grin, making Radek feel momentarily confused. That quickly changed to a warm flush he felt from head to toe as Rodney grabbed his hand and pulled, saying, "Let's move this upstairs."

----

Rodney couldn't stop kissing Radek, no matter how much Radek tried to distract him. Not that Rodney's kisses were a bad thing, but Radek had other ideas.

He suddenly sat up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed, leaving Rodney still lying flat on his back. Rodney tried to follow but Radek firmly pushed him back down. Radek slid his hand up and down Rodney's body a few times, each time making sure a nail or three caught on a nipple, making Rodney squeak each time. Each squeak only made Radek grin wider.

"Cato, what is going on in that mind of yours?" misquoted Rodney.

"I did not know you liked Pink Panther movies, Rodney. But, if you remember, Clouseau always thought he had the upper hand, but in reality, Cato was in control. Hmmm??"

Rodney's eyes squinted a bit at this but he said nothing, as Radek's hands had moved further down and were caressing his balls. Only low moans came from Rodney now. All their playing before had left Rodney fairly close to the edge, Radek thought. This wouldn't take long.

"Count for me, Rodney. Count off each stroke. If you stop, I will stop," and with these words he firmly grasped the base of Rodney's dick, causing him to gasp. "But if you keep up the count, you will get your reward. Ready?"

The look on Rodney's face said that he seemed to be torn between lust and losing his temper, but it seemed lust was winning out.

Radek brought his hand up Rodney's shaft, lightly brushing the head before heading back down. Rodney just squeaked. "Now, now, Rodney, what was that?"

"O-- uh, one," Rodney gasped.

"Good," said Radek, firmly moving his hand again up and down.

"T--Two," came from the bed.

Radek grinned.

"Three," was said with a little more force. Time to pick up the speed a bit.

"Four." "Five." "Six." "Seven." "Eight FOR GOD'S SAKE RADEK CUT IT OUT."

Radek did as threatened and grasped the bottom of Rodney's cock, making Rodney moan in frustration.

"Please, please, I'm sorry, Radek, I'm sorry. Don't stop."

"I am sorry, too," said Radek, leaning over to give Rodney a kiss. "I was trying to play a game, not make you beg."

Rodney surprised the hell out of Radek by responding, "No, no. You offered to-- and, I, um. Please. Continue. I'll count. I will."

Radek sat for a brief moment, less than a second, as he thought this through.

"Ok, Rodney, we will try again." And with that he stroked Rodney.

"One."

Radek changed his stroke so it let him fondle Rodney's balls, too.

"Twoooo, ohhh yeah."

"Three."

"Four." "Five." "Six."

By the time Rodney counted seventeen Radek realized that, short as the game had been, it was time to call it quits. He leaned over and whispered, "You do not have to count any more" into Rodney's ear as his hand sped up considerably, then he bit Rodney's earlobe which triggered Rodney's (loud) orgasm.

With heavy panting, Rodney asked, "What about you?"

"Catch your breath first," Radek replied, "Then I'm sure we can find something for you to do to me."

-----

Later, curled up in the warmth of each other in Rodney's huge bed, Radek couldn't help himself from asking, "So, about that guest bed?"

Rodney pulled him in tighter and growled, "There's no chance you're leaving this bed any time soon."

Radek grinned. "I'm counting on that."
