Discussion of Caught by medie

Jul 15, 2009 23:59

You may have noticed that there was no reading poll this month. This is because it's femslash round, and we have only one femslash story left on the reading list. After this, there're no more! So we'd take it as a kindness if y'all would offer up some of your own femslash stories, or go out and get permission to bring us someone else's.

But for now, let us move to our current femslash discussion of medie's Caught. This story is Laura Cadman/Sam Carter, 3401 words, and is rated NC-17. Happy discussing!

Remember also that our discussion of "Right Where I Want You" is ongoing HERE.

Excerpts:
zillah975 says:I love how nuanced and fully-realized his characters are, and it's refreshing to see that degree of realistic "imperfection", especially in fandom, which often goes for the perfect match perfectly realized. I put "imperfection" in quotes because it's imperfect only insofar as life's that way. Teyla's small moment of wistfulness, missing Rodney's breasts, is one of those moments. And it says so much about their relationship in so few words.

lyrstzha says:I'm also glad to see a fic that deals with transgender issues here; I don't run across a plethora of those anywhere either, usually. To my eye, this fic does a good job of dealing with those issues in a very realistic, personal, respectful way. Everything from the terminology to the sensory details to Teyla's introspection is well chosen to that end.
