She walked down the corridor holding the bundle of letters in her hand. Some were written in French, a few in Italian, most in English. Then she noticed one that wasn't addressed to her.
"Frick! Colonel Sheppard's mail!" she cursed lightly. Lily headed past her quarters to the next corridor where the Colonel's quarters were. She reached out and ran her hand over the doorbell.
"Colonel Sheppard, it's Captain Williams," she said.
John's breath caught in his throat when he heard the door chime then Lily's voice. He glanced down at the box before he let her in the room.
"Hey," he said, hoping his voice didn't sound shaky.
((OOC: How goes? I'm not sure what could be in the package, but I want it to be a shock and have something to do with his Mom. Perhaps you had an idea? You're more than welcome to pick what it is. I just never thought anyone would respond to this post so I hadn't really thought about it in awhile. LOL! Welcome back!
BTW, in the mission thread, McKay is trying to get some people to go with him to save Sheppard and Ronon, wherever he ended up. Lily should join them so McKay can get there. ^_~))
Lily caught the look on John's face. It was the same look her brother got when he was talking about their parents. She automatically felt a pang of pain in her stomach.
"Hey," she replied acting casual, "One of your letters snagged on mine, here." She moved to hand it to him and their forearms brushed against the other's. It sent a warm tingle from her arm to the rest of her body. She blushed a little, making her cheeks a rosy pink.
((OOC: I'm so happy to be back! :D Let's see-both mothers are either missing/dead/something bad happened to them. . . anyway, let me think about it. I just got back online, but I'll be on like once a day or once in a while. :) Thanks for welcoming me back!))
((I'll see if Lily can help McKay! :D))
((BTW, I received your message from a long time ago and I like the whole angst idea. Passion!!! I'm excited!))
John cleared his throat, then looked at the envelope. There was no return address, but the writing was so familiar. It just had his name on it. No, it couldn't be. She died a few months before he was stationed in Antarctica. Where the hell was all this stuff coming from?
He momentarily forgot Lily was there as he remembered how hard his Mother tried to get him and his Father to reconcile. And he did try, for her but it never worked out.
