Sheppard amnesia challenge

Hi, I'm posting this for a friend, who has just started watching SGA and reading the fan fiction.  Plot bunnies are just attacking her with lightning speed!

Here's her request:

Sheppard wakes up in his room on Atlantis with no memory of who he is or where he is. He goes out of his room and discovers that he's the only person on Atlantis. Everything

Now that's an interesting twist on the amnesia trope, using all the left over logs and journals to learn about his team mates. Love the idea of John using his skills to escape on his own. Whoever might take this on might want to recall that Ronon wouldn't write English in any type of personal journal, so John wouldn't' be able to read them. And Ronon only started using a voice recorder in season five after the "Prodigal", but maybe he could have kept personal recordings?

I'd really like to read this. Sounds fascinating.

Good point about Ronon knowing English. I'd thought about that and I think that's where the bit about Atlantis helping Sheppard popped in my head. But the personal recordings would be much better since he'd be able to hear the emotion in Ronon's voice as he talked to 'Melena'.

And if this was set after Prodigal, it'd be kind of humorous to see his reaction to Woolsey's logs as Woolsey's viewpoint of life in Pegasus and the people in Atlantis changed.

Unless it's set in the "My Home and Native Land"-verse! And Ronon started keeping journals in English as part of learning the written language from Chuck, and just gave Woolsey a hard time because he could! /silly

Very very tempting. This sounds like an awesome idea. It would be great if loads of people could write it. Be interesting to see what variences there would be.

It'd be cool if he could realise that he could communicate with the others who are in phase as well ... eg. Rodney is trying to work on figuring out where he's gone but data keeps appearing on his laptop.... and it's Shep out of phase but he doesn't realise it's having that impacce or something

Boy, i wish the muses would cooperate because this would be very cool to write

Ooo...nice addition to the idea about Sheppard finding new information due to Rodney.

I really hope the muses decide they want this idea done. (I've just discovered your fic recently and enjoying the heck out of them and it'd be a blast to see what you'd come up with)
