That was pretty much the kind of thing I was thinking of posting, but not sure if it's even worth it if they won't even see it. I don't know if they'll get any kind of notification of the reply if they don't have an account. I'm not sure how that works.

They have notification, I try to respond to most comments and have multiple conversations with people through them. lol. Go for it, burn them. They are a butt for posting a worthless comment like that that doesn't even tell you anything more then their own, obviously inflated, opinion.

Yeah, I try to reply to most of the comments I get as well. This is just the first one like this I've gotten, so wasn't sure the best way to handle it.

I don't know much about AO3, but try and not let it get to you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they don't have to be assholes about it. They could've not said anything at all, which I do when I read fics at times when I don't like them. If you say something ugly back (which I'm sure you're tempted) they might reply and then y'all would be in a war of words. Literally.

I once had someone call me out because I wrote donuts and not doughnuts. Really???

I'm not upset or taking it to heart or anything. I just don't like that they left something like that. Concrit would have been okay. I had someone on ff.net call me out on some facts that I got wrong. That is something I don't mind, I actually would rather have something like that. Ah well. I'm leaning more towards just deleting it.

I wouldn't even delete it, because it would give the person satisfaction of having upset you, and then they can be all righteously indignant.

I'd say don't engage. They'll continue to be a butt and they'll get satisfaction out of any argument but you most certainly won't because you *don't* enjoy being an ass and they obviously do.

I'll admit I've gotten very few bad comments, and usually they were more the person choosing to read something they normally don't and then (shocker) not enjoying and complaining about that (oi!) but I tend to ignore them. If 99.9% of people enjoyed it and there was only 1 butthead, that's good odds for the internet. :D
