Study group

Ami gathered a large pile of books together on a large table in the library. It was fifteen minutes before the study group was scheduled to begin, and Ami was preparing. After getting all the books together and stacked in neat piles, she sat and began leafing through one.
"You are Ami Mizuno?"
Ami jumped and looked up. Standing there was a girl with long brown hair and a somewhat intimidating presence to her. "Yes, I am. What's your name? Are you here for the study group?"
The girl nodded. "I am named River Tam, and I am here for the study group."
So this is River? Ami had heard all sorts of rumours about River; that she was violent, insane, tweaked... also rumours about her being involved with one of her classmates, Raven or something. Ami wasn't one to engage in gossip, however, and set aside whatever preconceived notions she had, though she had to admit that the girl already seemed a little odd.
"Hello, Tam-san. You can sit down and read whatever you'd like before everyone else shows up."
River took a seat and stared at the blue-haired girl across the table. "I've already read all of them, cover to cover."
Ami blinked. "Oh... okay then. Well, I suppose you could just wait for everyone else to show up, then!"
