Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car ( Read more... )

This RoseArt addiction you speak of... What exactly does a RoseArt addiction entail? Also, what types of paints would you need for this? I've looked it up online and I'm seeing lots of markers, crayons and pastels but they're not actually showing me what types of projects they're used for or what types of paints you would need. So, help a prospective Santa out??

P.S. Are you still on for the Xmas trip to Austin? Where are you staying, how long and can we set up a date so I can give you the Xmas gifts I have for you (and the paints if I can find them!)? Not to mention, give and get a hug from my friend Jilli? Love you hon, and I miss having you in Austin.

The RoseArt thing are these, they're the Super Tubes that you can get at Michael's and places like that. My mom gets them for me and I got annoyed with the markers running out and started using paint instead. I now find them rather relaxing. I just need to find a new place to do them since I got rid of my dining room table. And I need to re-buy the dragon as he needs to be chucked and started over. Ugh.

The paint, I typically do the Folk Art Metallic paints, but probably need to branch out for some variety, someone has suggested paint pens, but I haven't really looked into those so I don't know.

Yes, I will still be in Austin and we'll make plans. See the e-mail I will be sending in a few minutes. :)

So probably some sort of acrylics would work for this. Also, some sort of paint set with a variety like I've got with liquid watercolors, acrylics, oils and then pastels/pencils so you'd have a variety of things to play with and try things out with it would also be fun. What do you think? Would either of these ideas be something you'd be interested in for this? (Provided I'm understanding your project and explanation as well as where you want to take it, which might not be the case! :P)

Yes you're understanding it right. I've never thought of doing it with anything but the acrylics. I've actually never worked with oils, and I've only worked with watercolors once or twice. Pastels and pencils wouldn't really work with the paper that the designs are printed on, it's too slick.
