While I am sure the intentions of the father were honorable, I would figure the kid would prefer to score on his own, if he could. Also, there could be an implied disregard for the child's welfare, picking up a street prostitute for his first, as opposed to maybe using a escort service or brothel, which some screen their hires for disease.
