Memories

Recently, there's been some very difficult things that have happened. I thought maybe going back to the past might help me find some perspective. I walked into my room and dug around through boxes hardly touched for years and pulled out a single box I've had since elementary school ( Read more... )

It's always a challenge for me to let go of the many items I have kept from my past, but every year I try to let go of a few more things. Partially I just don't want to become a hoarder, but there is some sense of freedom in letting old things go and making room for new things. It seems weird to have been out of touch with people who were so close to me so long ago, but I wouldn't trade my friends now to go back.

Your little keyboard wasn't the Casio with the Greensleeves demo what is? :)

Hey there, Thumps! :3

You may have the right idea with letting go. I don't keep much and rarely look back at it. Still, I don't know if I could throw out much of it. There's things I just don't want to forget and I have a pretty spotty (ha!) memory. ^^

I had to look it up, but the keyboard WAS a Casio! The demo song wasn't Greensleeves, though. I'm not sure what the title was but with the power of technology from THE FUTURE, we can probably find it!

And here we are! It was this song:

OMG I think mine is the next model up from that! It has 4 demo songs on a memory card that can be swapped out!

You know what I have started doing is taking photos of little things or T-shirt or posters or stuff I know I should just get rid of. Then I can always go back and look at the photos and trigger and enjoy the memories without keeping the old stuff around. Its the memories I associate with them that are more valuable to me than the items themselves.

I also like that exercise because then I know if I ever get robbed or have a fire or something and lose those things, I will at least have the photo in the cloud somewhere rather than losing the item without any trace or record of it.

Oh, I see how it is. You just HAVE to one up me with your fancy new-fangled 80s technology! XD

The photo idea is actually a really good one. I think I may do that. Thank you!

Oh, and completely unrelated, I really enjoyed your DJing during the various cons. You do good work. ^^
