I need you to look after Helios for a while while I'm gone. Just keep an eye on him and make certain that he doesn't push himself too hard in the state he's in.

[A pause that won't be noticeable by the time she reads these words, and then added below:]

I love you. I don't know how that might change when I come back, and I hope to god it doesn't. What won't change is the fact that what I feel here and now was always real and always mattered.

It's early in the afternoon before Ginia sits down with her journal, a warm cup of tea, a plate of cookies, and half a sandwich at the dining table in the shared kitchen. (A second cup of tea is poured and prepared out of pure habit; she lets it sit on the table, lacking the heart to pour it out.) For a few minutes she enjoys the joys of being tangible and alive, savoring her food and drink and the quiet of the afternoon even as the threat of death hangs over all their heads

[Giles knocks lightly on the door to the clinic ward, waiting to see if Ginia is awake before he makes any further movements.]

[Ginia is awake, a fact that becomes apparent as she opens the door and smiles at Giles. Should she sill be resting? Maybe, but try telling an active person that.]

[The first thing he's going to do is direct her immediately to this. He's very carefully stalking this, and he's just going to circle it like six times.

She's concerned about the validity of her birthday. Is that normal? [Also hello to you too, Ginia. Don't mind him, he's kind of unsure how to react to it all.]

[Ginia's working on her own limits with Kipinn's power when the journal pings her to the presence of a new message. She flips it open and opens up the message.

No, Draco, she can't see the circling, though her own stalking browsing of the journal had brought up Caroline's message earlier so she has some idea what Draco is concerned about.]

I'm not sure normal is ever the right word to use around here, but I suppose it's a reasonable concern to have. However, I think birthdays are about more than just celebrating being another year older. [Hello to you too, Draco.]
