Job 006 :: The Memento Job [Written]

With Rydia's permission (thank you again), I've started up a calendar to keep track of experiments, drafts, cycles, and anything else that might come up. It can also be used to write down any parties or other such occasions or events. The calendar can be found at the Welcome Center. September is up on the wall, July and August can be found on the ( Read more... )

[a MUCH more sober Zenigata pops up]
The calender is a good thought.

As for your question. I figure you know the answer to that. Arsene Lupin III. Just so I know exactly where he is, so he can't get away. Plus, if anyone can get us out, it'd be Lupin.

How's the head?

Not a bad answer, know where the mark is at all times. But no friends or family?

Head's getting there. but yea, as much as I hate to admit it, if anyone could outfox these Malnosso freaks it'd be Lupin.

My...family and I aren't on the best of terms. I'm not around much, what with work and all. Y'know how it goes. and the last person this place needs is Melon-Cop. Guy's a total psycho partner.

I think that'd be worth seeing.

I can understand that. What kind of psycho partner type are we talking about here?

[Robert is glad to see that Ginia is back, safe and sound and seemingly not any worse for wear. Though the mun isn't certain if Robert saw or heard anything related to any mallynappings...]

Thank you for the increased organizational facilities, Ginia. It will be much appreciated. [Especially by people like himself...

The question, though? He honestly isn't certain how to answer it.]

As for your query - I suppose, if anything, I would take Terran medical technology here. It would be far more useful than what already exists here. [He could have used it to cure Ingrid.]

Though if I could be certain a person already here would not leave [- That's so selfish-sounding that he cuts himself off immediately.]

You're welcome, Robert.

It's funny really that you say that. Not because it's a silly thing to ask - I think it's great - but my world's technology is more advanced than the technology we have here, but healing magic is better than some technology. Then there's your world centuries ahead that has greater technology.

Perspective.

[Robert still can't contact Nala though at least his mun knows he actually can now, so it's not something he knows directly. Still, he's aware of several of his friends being able to use it.]

Yes, it is very much influenced by one's perspective. Much of the technology in Luceti is quite archaic to me, but some of it is fascinatingly advanced. [Like the Battle Dome.]

On the subject of health - you appear to be doing quite well, as far as I can ascertain. Did you fare well enough on the draft?

[He's obviously ignoring his own cut-off bit there, though of course Ginia is welcome to poke at it...]

[Ginia can heal paper cuts. It's awesome.]

It's amazing how all the different technology and even cultures have all come together. Helios said it was much like a multidimensional melting pot the first day we met.

Bumps and scrapes, minor cuts, nothing to worry about. Sorry I didn't get in touch sooner there's been a lot to take care of. I can train you whenever you want.

[In time, in time.]

You're welcome. And birthdays, not a bad idea. Shall I jot yours down?

May. Didn't strike me much as a May guy, but I'll make a note of that.

Got a date or is your birthday just a month-long celebration?

[Lindsay ended up staying at the Welcome Center overnight, since she only arrived yesterday. So she... actually could probably go see that calendar, if she wanted. Probably later. In the meantime, she writes out a reply instead - it just felt natural, given the person who made the announcement was writing.]

That's a really good idea! Thanks. [And... she pauses there. There's a question in her head, about the things on the calendar, the drafts and cycles and whatnot, but she's not sure how to word it, so she skips it, for now. She can answer that other question, though.]

I would probably bring Cass. She's my sister.

[The little picture and handwriting isn't familiar, but New Feathers are arriving and Ginia knows there's still plenty of people in the village she hasn't met yet.]

You're welcome.

Family, always important. Are you two close?

Yeah, we are. We've [slight pause] really been through a lot together.

[Understatement of the century.]

The bonds of family, strong ties indeed.

I hope you can see her soon. If not here, then back home.

Too many people to pick from or thinking on the moral issue behind it?

The latter. Dragging someone I love to this primitive nightmare wouldn't feel right, even if they would be safe.

Fair enough. Then how about if you could bring an item of importance to you? Or as someone asked, a piece of technology.
