G-Ginia? [Oh wow -- she can't help but widen her eyes for a split second as her mouth makes an 'O' before speaking again.]

. . . Stories... Which kinds do you like? I know of a few.

That'd pretty brave of little Ginia-chan. [she giggles at the thought of a smaller version of her.] I know when I was that age, I wouldn't have been able to go anywhere without my brother at least, in tow.

[Aside from that small comment, she stops herself from speaking any further, showing she's keenly listening.]

I was a precocious child. I know the bus route from taking it before with my parents or my brother or sister, so I figured I'd be fine. Wrote a note and left it on the kitchen counter, packed a small snack, grabbed a backpack, and left. The actual trip was uneventful. Bus ride was fine, got to the library, and began gathering up a stack of books.

I think I realized with how long the ride to the library and then from the library back home, I might as well read some books at the library, then check out new ones to take home. So I took my stack over to a comfort corner, sat down and began reading. I ended up falling asleep at some point - really comfortable beanbag chair - and somehow I got overlooked because when I woke up, the library was closed.

You weren't stuck there over night, were you?

[She was in a similar situation once -- although that was in her own school. Minako had her friends with her too, but... It must've been scary, for a kid of age of ten all alone.]

Thankfully not. Once I realized I was locked inside, I looked for a phone and dialed 911. Couldn't say anything, but the operator sent a police officer over to check it out and he helped me home. Which was good as my family was worried I'd been kidnapped or something. My note was hidden under the mail and my brother's backpack.

E-eeh. [She mulls for a moment.] Even as a kid, you were still pretty cool, huh?

Cool? No, not so much. Maybe very level-headed.

I guess that works too -- still, it's something I'm envious of.

Well! Since you told a story about your childhood... Would you like to hear one of mine, too?

It's nothing to be envious of.

I don't mind at all if you don't mind sharing.

... Well, it's kind of similar to the story you told me.

My brother and I -- we got lost this one time. We were on a camping trip with our parents. Like yours, they were pretty busy most of the time with work so events like these we both really treasured. You could say, on my end, that I was ecstatic.

Oh, camping trips! Those are always fun. Go on.

They are! But as I was saying, I guess I was a little too excited that day. It had been months since the last time we had one, and I got sidetracked. It was a butterfly -- I'd never seen one so pretty before, so naturally, I chased after it. My parents were busy looking at the map I guess, and they trusted me and my brother to behave.

[At this point, she laughs sheepishly.]

Needless to say, my brother followed after me and I lost track of what I was chasing after pretty soon. It was then that we both realised -- we really didn't have a clue which direction we came from, nor did we have a compass or map.

Oh dear. I hope you two weren't lost for too long? Though it's good you two were together.

Luckily, it was only for a couple hours... But by the end of that, both my brother and I already started building a makeshift house and everything. It was a little silly of us, I guess.

A makeshift house? [Ginia gives a light, good-natured chuckled.] Sounds like you two were very resourceful. What did you guys make it out of?
