The Necklace
As of Christmas, Ginia is now in possession of a
necklace enchanted by Helios that allows her to speak. This is something that has been approved by the moderators and the following guidelines have been set: The necklace is considered a magical item and is subject to any shifts or magic caps that affect the item. This means if there was a shift canceling out all magical items, Ginia would not be able to speak even while wearing the necklace. The effect also only works when Ginia is wearing the necklace; if she's not wearing the necklace, she will not be able to talk. This is also an item that can be lost or stolen (contact me if your character would like to do the latter). In short, the necklace is not a cure, but an aid.
The Character
Ginia is a mute character, yes, but it's not her only defining characteristic. While she's adapted to being mute and has ways of communication with everyone, she also realizes the ease of speaking. To turn down a possible aid (especially one made by a close friend) would be OOC of her to do so.
Will this change how she interacts with people? No. While she may speak her mind a little more, the core personality and who she is will remain the same. If there are any changes, it would be more talkative to people as it's less awkward striking up a random conversation with someone when you don't have a spring a written message on them.
The voice, or why Italian accented?
Ginia's mother is from Venice, so if she was born able to speak, I believe some of the accent would have carried over into her own voice. In this case, it's more of a "personal headvoice" (the voice she would think in) that's taken form.
And singing?
All right, I fully admit it's something I wanted to have fun and play around with. While it's easy finding Youtube clips of good singers to use as samples usually for sound clarity or instrumental accompaniment purposes), Ginia is in time, work, and effort for her singing voice. She's taking lessons from Frederic, practices frequently, and also has a very solid music background. However, again, it's something I wanted to play around with. Some things just are for fun.
If you have any further questions or concerns, I'm always willing to discuss them. You can either comment here or over on Ginia's
personal HMD.
