It lives... IT LIVES!

The LHC, the most modern wonder of science was activated Wednesday morning, and no, we aren't all dead. The black hole would take a nano-nano second to die, enough time to absorb... nothing. Everyone thinks of blackholes as "A galactic nibbler" eating everything around it in an instance. But, that's like saying we only have one word for every ( Read more... )

That thing scares the living hell out of me.
But, I'm glad we're still alive. =D

LHC is nothing to be afraid of. If humanity can recreate "the big bang" then we are a lot smarter than we thought. But the chances of that are slim to none, seeing as how 95% of the ocean floor is still completely undiscovered.

And, like I said, the "blackhole" it can create is less like a blackhole, and more like a new atom.

So a black hole really isn't a possibility?

No, it's quite possible. In fact, we hope for it. But on Earth, a man made blackhole would act completely different than a blackhole in space. Because of the physics on Earth, and physics in space, the blackhole it may create will do nothing more than fizzle out. To grow, a BH needs food, something the one we create won't have. It'll be to small to absorb anything, seeing as it's mass will be less than that of two atoms.

The LHC is absolutely fascinating.
