Nothing means a damn thing anymore...

Out of total exhaustion I sat on the stairs of the hotel, looking around at the mess in the lobby…and the office…and behind the counter…and the weapons cabinet ( Read more... )

I wasn't sure exactly what had brought me to the underbelly of the demon bar scene but Caritas was occasionally a cold comfort after spending night after night cooly sipping martinis at the best most exclusive and upscale bars that Los Angeles had to offer. Besides, business was business, right? Occasionally I had to bring my fashionable and expensive Manolo Blahniks down to the lower recesses to deal with demons and the like. Caritas at least had the famliar comfort of Sanctuary. Quaint, really.

Things were busy around the office now that Darla and Drusilla had managed to destroy our entire department. Holland Manners along with every other person in Special Projects. The only one's she had spared were myself and Lindsey. Of course, spared wasn't exactly the word I'd use for what she'd done to Lindsey. I'd feel bad for him if I cared, and really you had to expect that sort of thing when you were doing the sort of job we were doing. Now I was the only remaining living employee of Special Projects. Now the president of Special ( ... )

Lilah was already testing my patients, too bad for her I didn't have any. When she tried to get into her car I slammed the door shut, just missing her fingers.

"What can you do for me?" I shook my head and leaned against the car, boxing her in with my body, an arm on either side of her. "You're supposed to be a very smart woman, what do you think I want Lilah?"

I paused for a moment, glaring at her and I knew in the back of my mind time was running out for Faith, something inside of me kept eating away at me, telling me things were just getting worse. "I don't have time for your games, so I'm going to say this once. Don't give me games and don't give me lip, I want answers. Where is he?"

She stayed quiet for a moment and that was a moment too long for my liking so I grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against her car. "Lilah...where is Lindsey?"

It seemed as though we were skipping past the usual niceties and heading straight for the full-blown intimidation today. Whoever said that Angel wasn't a people person sure wasn't kidding. Then again, the idiot who said that was probably already dead because Angel wasn't a person at all, now was he? At least he seemed to handle things with a big more finesse most of the time. I guess our little Darla really got to the soulled wonder. That was really too bad. Oh wait, I loved it when Wolfram and Hart's evil plans regarding a certain Champion actually worked out. I just wasn't willing to risk my neck for them despite risking it all the time. Literally ( ... )

I cocked my brow and leaned in closer to her, smelling her and knowing she wasn't lying. Well that's a new thing for Lilah Morgan. "Lilah..." My tone was low and threatening, I didn't have time for her and her shit. Faith was hurt - hopefully not dead - with Darla, Dru and Lindsey, Darla left Lindsey with Dru long enough for her to make him crazy so who knows what they're doing to her or have done to her.

Reaching up I moved her hair off her face softly before fisting it in my hand, not pulling...yet. "Alright, I don't have time for games Lilah, I want to know where they are. If you don't know then find out. I'm not playing games, I've had a rough few days and I'm not above taking it out on anyone." Narrowing my eyes at her. "You could be first on my list...if you like..."

Giving her a moment I looked her square in the eyes. "What's it going to be Lilah? Are you going to tell me and find out where he is? Or do things have to get...bloody?"
