(no subject)
A quick, informal update on the situation here, where my roommate was trying to raise $2,667. She's planning on writing thank you notes, making a video, etc etc, and I don't want to announce any actual numbers yet, BUT. We raised more than we ever expected - not more than the amount due, but jesus christ, you guys, YOU STRANGERS, I've tried to thank you all individually but some of you I don't even know who you are. I'm boggled and thankful and overwhelmed.
And then, today, we found out that she can reregister with a $500 debt still in place - and she's about $100 away from being able to go back for the fall semester. A whole semester earlier than we planned! Calls have been put in to the enrollment office, FAFSA forms are scramblingly being filled out.
Please know that this isn't me asking for another shot in the arm - especially not from those who have already given - but just giving you guys an update on how ridiculously successful this entire thing has been. If we don't make it to the goal amount by the time she needs to register, I'm going to put the remaining bit on my credit card, and she can pay me back over the next... however long, while she takes care of the $500 balance. I don't even care. The point is that YOU GUYS DID THIS, and so fast and furiously that she's going to be able to get back for Fall 2011, not Spring 2012.
