Japan was :a lot: of fun! And I bought a ton of CDs. I was actually IN the Tower Records (http://www.towerrecords.co.jp) store at Shinjuku, Tokyo! It seems like people like D-51, Hamasaki Ayumi, Kirito, Otsuka Ai, etc. are popular right now. It was so interesting to actually be inside

How the hell do you afford It? plane tickets are like one-two thousand dollars. T_T

I went with a tour group my school deals with, and we stayed in veryvery cheap places... even a real temple, once. It cost about $2400 total, plus all the money I spent on food and souvenirs. I think it was definitely worth it ^^
