Good luck with the full-body imaging, and with the furnace install. We had to do the electric blankets thing for heat (didn't even have space heaters for a couple of weeks!) once, but that was in New Orleans, so now nearly as severe as New England winter.

Man, hope they get the boiler situation resolved before the words "polar vortex" start popping up on the weather charts... and sympathies with treating Bash The Murder cat. [I've got 8 cats, so been there] I assume you've tried the purreto or mummified cat approach? Sometimes giving them a treat immediately afterwards mitigates the effort involved as they associate treatment with treat.. [not always though.] Good luck with the body imaging as well...

If your furnace was from 1961, ALL your future gas bills will be lower. Even if your landlord got a cheap one, any new furnace is going to be hella more efficient that that dinosaur.

Yeah. The furnace guys estimate it'll cut our bill in half - and considering that they estimated last year's bills perfectly, I believe them!
