Nope. The first auditions were for Threepenny Opera in fall and Eugene Onegin in winter.
Nothing in Threepenny (although I guess I should be flattered they don't think I look whorish....) and no role in Onegin. They haven't posted the Onegin chorus yet but apparently want to hold more auditions for it...which I find a bit ridiculous. But I'm holding out hope. Kind of.
On a side note, only two sophomores got anything in the operas so far. One guy is in the 3Penny ensemble, and a mezzo has one of the *leads* in Onegin. Craziness, I say...
Tell me about it. It ends up we're doing magic flute, and a sophomore got Pamina. She's sharing it with a senior, but still. Add to that that I was told to learn her silly aria and so got my hopes up, only to find come posting day that I got Second Lady, and I was a little bummed for a few days. Thbbt.
right, and the guy is a tenor, and good mezzos are less common and allison is just fantastic anyway, so those i can understand. this is why i just don't audition for stuff :P it also sucks because i went to look at the lists with andrew and once again he hasn't been given a role and is in the stupid ensemble, even though he's a senior :( You've got time, babe, and everybody knows the soprano competition is way steeper
