190 ★ some people come into our lives, for a reason

S2 of Glee is over, and so are most of my exams. So here are some thoughts on Glee!

That finale was pretty great. There were moments in there when I was thinking this almost rivals the Born This Way ep. Okay, Blaine said "I love you" and Kurt said it back, which is awesome, but that wasn't the best part of this episode.

Also, people are freaking out about the way Kurt reacted, and I admit I initially freaked out as well. Although I was less, "OMG KURT DOESN'T LOVE BLAINE BACK" because I'm a silly Klainer who knows that Kurt loves Blaine back, but I kept thinking "GOD NOW ALL THE KLAINE HATERS WILL BE LIKE HAH THIS IS WHY THIS SHIP SUCKS". But then I read this post and all the comments are brilliant and there are a thousand different awesome interpretations of that scene and now I think I've finally figured that scene out. But here's what I contributed to that post, and it's still kind of my headcanon right now:

I think that "They can't touch us, or what we have" and "I'll never say goodbye to you" are versions of "I love you" that Kurt is way more comfortable with. But because "I love you" is such a common phrase, Kurt feels weird saying it. Because that's the thing with Kurt. If he's conscious about the fact that he has to be sexy, he tries to do it the way he thinks other people does it, and it isn't going to be sexy. But he is so damn sexy when he's just doing his own thing. So Kurt knows he loves Blaine, and willingly expresses it in his own way. But when it comes to the words that other people say to express love, those three words-- Kurt doesn't know how to do that in a way that's really him. "I love you", for Kurt, are words that belong to other people. And I mean, both Finn and Brittany said them this episode.

The best thing about this episode was definitely all the Hummelberry interaction. I absolutely adore the Hummelberry friendship. For Good was so lovely but now Hummelberry-share-an-apartment-in-NYC fic is almost canon!!! *flails* Okay, not really, but I love those fics and I can dream. Though I certainly like the fics where Klaine share an apartment too. Which is again, almost canon. Holy crap. I'm loving shipping a canon pairing again. This is even better than Jack/Ianto used to be.

WHERE IS MY BRITTANA KISS WHEN ON EARTH IS IT EVER GOING TO HAPPEN. ): I become more and more of a Brittana shipper with every episode. Before, I just wanted Santana to be happy, wherever that may take her. But then there as Songbird, which was flawless, and then Prom Queen... And now I'm kind of smitten.

I love how so many fans (non-Klainers, of course) have been saying how S2 has been a disaster and ruined Glee. They're entitled to their opinion, obvs! But S1 was unbearable for me most of the time. Aside from the Kurt storyline, I just couldn't really watch it and had to skip several episodes entirely (and by several... I mean six). I recall Laryngitis and possibly Theatricality being the only episodes that really engaged me.

Favourite episodes in S2, on the other hand: Original Song, Born This Way (not because of SOWK, which I oddly didn't enjoy as much as most other Klainers did, but OH MY GOD AIWNSG, AND THE ACTUAL BTW SONG, AND EVERY SINGLE THING SANTANA SAID), and New York.

Runners-up: Never Been Kissed for the holding hands, slow-mo running down the 'shortcut' and the Teenage Dream performance, Grilled Cheesus (it had more than its fair share of problems, but mostly I just remember weeping like a weeping thing the entire episode), and Furt for all the joy in the Hudmels household. :D

Anyway, enough of my babbling. I know some of you have feelings on Glee! I also know that some of you dislike what they've done with Kurt, especially this season. I'm forever a Kurtsie and I'm pretty happy with the direction they've taken with Kurt this season, although I'm still not entirely sold on his characterisation in Prom Queen but I blame that all on Ian.

(And yeah. Prom Queen. I don't know, I was uncomfortable with the way he seemed a bit pushier that episode than usual. I enjoyed the end of it though. And Santana's "Teen gay, you may now proceed to the next checkpoint without fear of violence" is simply unforgettable and probably my favourite part of that episode.)
