I had really been looking forward to the Howard County Powwow this weekend, but with heat indexes hitting 110 degrees today, and not much better tomorrow, there is no way on earth I am taking my baby to an outdoor event. Dang. :( Now I has a sad. This will be the first year in ages that I haven't made it to this Powwow ( Read more... )

Yeah, taking a baby out in that heat would be bad! We made that mistake with the Guinness Fleadh at Arlington Park. There was one tree for shade and it was surrounded by smokers, so we wound up trying to make a baby tent out of my shirt!

Yep, there is almost no shade at all at the fairgrounds where this event will be held. What's worse is that the humidity is going to be absolutely obnoxious, and there's a really good chance of some wicked thunderstorms this afternoon. (Remind me to tell you about the trip to the zoo that ended with us all getting drenched.) So... yeah, no powwow for us today.

Yea.

Baby F does not like my sling. I made it for Little Cat Z from the Maya Sling pattern, and we got pretty good use out of it. I've had F in it a couple of times where she seemed happy and complacent . . . but every other time, she shrieks. I hope you get plenty of use out of the three you have.:-)

You need to do a post with pictures so we can see how he's grown, too!

::grins:: I have three because I'm getting so much mileage out of them! Sometimes the mini-badger howls when I try to put him in the sling, but I've found that on those occasions, he's perfectly happy standing in the sling when that happens, he just wants that little extra bit of feeling active and autonomous, I suppose. We make it work, and he's always happy to sit down after a few minutes.
