BIG rumbles and LOTS of shaking here tonight!! (Reminded me of the 1989 quake!) Followed by more gentle rolling.

Stuff stayed on the E-W shelves but in one room a LOT of stuff fell off N-S shelves, thankfully we have not found anything broken. I'm surprised it's "only" (preliminary estimate) of 5.6 --- but looking at the USGS CA-NV earthquake web ( Read more... )

You are pretty much on top of the epicenter there..no wonder stuff fell.

Yeah.. and upon further inspection, the brackets for those shelves were warped. Apparently they were weak before the quake then caused them to toss all the contents (but not the shelves themselves) onto the floor.

Further excitement for the night was Dash running out front for the 2nd time today. I just managed to grab her and bring her back inside after looking around the yard with flashlights for a few minutes.
