Ok, I just got home from the Dayton Mall today to try to get my first experience at a furmeet. However, upon arrival at the mall I started to think to myself: "How the hell am I to tell who the people are that I am looking for?". Hey shadou, sorry for missing you, I had seen you, it was dificult to identify folks, next time I will be sure to have a con badge so i can be identified. Ifeel bad about you being there and not meeting up with us.

Naw, it's ok. It was mostly my fault for not really doing anything to "join in". Plus I hadn't read your journal entry that you had made before the meet-up with the details that could have helped me a little more. Well, there's always next time =3.

I've had the same problem. Now, I know what Furmeet you're talking about, and it was called on very short notice. (Couldn't make it myself.) If you have more lead time, and aren't certain you can ID the folks you'll be meeting, you might e-mail or put up a post to ask how to identify them. If it's at a restuarant, ask them to tell the maitre'd who they are, so he can tell you when you arrive.

If that's not possible, then what you can do is print out the invite and take it with you and just ask around whenever you see a likely-looking group. Watch for: sketch-books, collars, tails, animal print or Fur-con T's. Won't take too long to find 'em.
