Most everyone is familiar with the classical conditioning experiments conducted by Ivan Pavlov in the 1890s and 1900s.  The phrase "Pavlov's Dog" has made its way into modern vernacular in reference to anyone (or anything) that automatically performs an action in response to a specific stimulus.

I'm a sick, morbid little girl... I laughed when I read this. It's very sad that she got hurt... but the way you wrote the story was killer!
