I want them to pay attention to who you are more likely to shoot incorrectly or not shoot incorrectly as well. Also my reaction time is tied in to things like - how many other 'shooters' have I just seen in a row? In fact most of the time when I shot or didn't shoot people correctly (which was a lot, I'm bad at these things, and the rapidly shifting background images were really distracting) it was because I'd gotten in to a habit.

Data analysis is poor, in any case.

Also - seriously - shoot anyone you see who might have a gun based on a 700 milisecond assessment? Wtf? A lot of time I was slow on my identifications because I wanted to be *sure*, you know, and it timed out - I lost points, and I don't know if those were counted.

Yeah! I was looking at their hands and going, "Crap! I can't tell if that's a cellphone or a gun..."

Though I did still think it was funny that I was somewhat quicker on the trigger to kill armed white men. I have to admit, they scare me more.

You are correct in being suspicious of this test. The focus of something other than race does what you perceived. There are ways to make race more salient and thus more of a problem for our national consciousness.

This is interesting. I took the test again, but just held down the "shoot" key the whole time. Thus, I shot everyone, black and white, armed or not.

Game Over
Your Score: -500
Average reaction time:
Black Armed: 24.56ms
Black Unarmed: 41.24ms
White Armed: 29.08ms
White Unarmed 26.36ms
