I'm the Chosen One
I finished my first ending in Shadow the Hedgehog. And chaootaku was absolutely right about Cosmic Fall. I just needed to get past that ONE part...
SPOILERS FOR ONE ENDING OF SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
So, where did I leave off? Ah yes, after Shadow had the prologue to this flashback stage, the quests were these:
Hero: Beat all 35 Artificial Chaos
Neutral: Get to the lab and see if the Professor is okay.
I, of course, did Neutral. Now, a cut scene shows us the GUN commander lived on the ARK and was close to Maria. He is angry and wants to kill Shadow, since it's Shadow's fault everyone from the ARK. We also learn Black Doom helped create Shadow. (Note: Kid-Commander's face when he sees Doom, Gerald, and Shadow is hilarious. He has two eye colors, by the way)
Shadow tells the commander he remembers nothing, and will willingly accept punishment, after he gets time to learn the truth for himself. As Shadow leaves, the commander falls to the ground in shock and drops his gun.
Next stage. Cosmic Fall. The ARK is collapsing. Either grab the Chaos Emerald (Evil) or get to the computer room and stop the ARK from falling entirely apart (Hero)
Now, the partner in this mission (besides Doom's Eye) is none other than the only Chaotix member I haven't met yet (and helped), Vector the Crocodile. WHile I was originally planning to do evil in this, I decided to go Hero on this one.
So, I played the level. With all it's twists and the fact that Shadow can fall to his Death in nearly EVERY part, it got frustrating. However...
I quit and went to play Sonic Heroes.
A few days later, I went through Cosmic Fall, and not only did I win with only loses two lives, I ENJOYED it. Now, a very funny thing here.
At one point, there's the Chaos Emerald. You have to sneak past it to be able to then safely get onto the elevator above some green ooze. Now this is what Vector said: "Get the Chaos Emerald later, we have to get to the computer room!"
And this makes PERFECT sense. Stop the ARK from falling apart FIRST, THEN go back and grab the Emerald. Though apparently, you get an Emerald in every level no matter what anyway.
Anyway, Black Doom HIMSELF arrived and declared me a traitor (which makes NO sense, seeing as I didn't do ANY evil missions. Well, Shadow and Vector fight Black Doom. And he got tough because of the stupid bazooka's aiming system. Anyway, the heroes won.
Black Doom tells Shadow that Shadow is what the humans call "The Evil One" (When did this come up?) Shadow turns to leave, calling himself an experiment gone wrong, and then Vector tries to coomfort him... I think.
Credits role, background music being "The Chosen One." At the end, it said "You have unlocked 'The Omochao Gun.'
I can't wait to see what THAT does XD
Also, other things under here that are just game features and the multiplayer mode.
First off, there's a "Library" under "New Game" and "Continue." There, you can view the actual paths that you took through the game, in the order you got them. Very cool, if I might say.
I played multiplayer. Characters available to play as are Shadow, Shadow with yellow stripes, and four Metal Shadows with different colored spikes. Now, while the regular Shadows act like the real one in the game, the Metals are diffent.
Blue and Pink shoot lasers, have infinite ammo, and can't drop their weapon or pick up a new one. Green and Orange throw bombs, have infinite ammo, and can't drop their weapon or pick up a new one. Background music is that of Radical Highway (Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow's first stage) until someone gets Chaos Blast, then that music stays.
Chaos Blast, in multi mode, is easily avoidable. Looking at the other player's screen, you can make your escape and not take the hit. However, the Chaos Blast is no different from regular damage, so... Yeah. Whoever lives/has most rings at the end of ten minutes wins. Woot.
In an unrelated note, I want screenshots with Shadow and Vector. In the same screenshot. ^_^
