Well just reading up on the news. There is a small scale (well, not really) example of what this country would look like without political power. I've never heard of anyone being so ill-behaved. Dead bodies decorated the streets. People were holding up charity organizations in order to get their supplies of food. Looters were going on shopping

Don't people suck sometimes? Everyone in New Orleans has already been through enough and yet others insist on making the worst of a bad situation and kill and steal from those who just lost everything.

On a side note while I was watching the news shortly after I heard about the ordeal, some guy on msnbc or one of those 24 hour news networks kept making horrible jabs at other countries such as, "These are sights you would expept to see from bangladesh, not a major U.S. city", and when talking about aid coming from foreign countries after hearing russia in the list remarked, "Not to be sarcastic or anything, but how can a poor country like Russia help a rich country like the U.S." There are so many insults that I would like to say to this but none seem to fully encompass my rage at the jerk. Sorry for the rant, i suppose i should save it for my own journal.

Go figure, we american folks. Im suprised Russia even bothered to help, to be obvious. And for the slanderer..? I suppose he will be mugged and beaten by the KGB or something xD. Who knows. But we can laugh right?

I hope the waters kind of dont go back. Itll just cost "the rich country us" more money. How about those $3-5 gas prices? craap guys!

In Mississippi and Georgia it's rose up to 6 greenbacks a gallon. Geesh we can't make even short trips anymore unless they're worth something.
Looting continues into today; I'm surprised people are brainless enough to make it worse than it has been. People practically had smoke coming out of their ears in anger by the time the army trucks got there. Who wants to be in that sort of anarchistic madness for 48 hours straight?
