"I’ve been sent here to correct you. To make you perfect..." Totally expected a cheesy, typical demon-play-- not this twist! This is actually pretty good as a first chapter (I haven't checked out the previous yet). Mas!
I'm so glad to see this story back! I was just thinking about it the other day :)
You know...I am very familiar with that demon.
All of this was very well done. I've played TS3 (though totally unmodded) and I can only imagine the effort that goes into this story (especially if you don't have something that can freeze a Sim like the Freezer Clock Mod for TS2).

THERE'S A MOD FOR THAT?! OMG why can't someone make something like that for TS3... that would make my life so much easier!

To be fair, the Freezer Clock is based off a witch spell that freezes time and/or freezes a Sim. I didn't play with the witches all that much in TS3 or know if there's any spell like it with any of the other supernaturals. If there is, maybe somebody will make it? (Because, yeah, it does make life a whole lot easier.)
Well. ~Psychology~ It seems like there's a lot of guilt going on in Laura's mind - and not enough self worth to kick it the fuck out. I'm fairly well acquainted with the demon of 'not good enough' myself, and actually seeing it is probably a very, very bad thing. (I also think that, given how many flashbacks have been in this story so far, this one would have worked fairly well as a first chapter for the newcomers.)
I find it a bit ironic that Laura's guilt about sleeping with John points out that he's a married man with children. It's like, in her mind, his wife barely exists at all, just the idea of his marriage and his children. (Doubly ironic, because with this demon of guilt following her she might be able to understand what John's wife is going through.)
I actually think the demon looks better without the horns and tail. The more she looks like Laura, the more it's Laura saying these things to herself and believing them.
"I actually think the demon looks better without the horns and tail. The more she looks like Laura, the more it's Laura saying these things to herself and believing them." Totally second this!
Yes, I'm glad people are psychology-ing. I was worried people would think it was a literal demon, and this is NOT a supernatural story.
"(I also think that, given how many flashbacks have been in this story so far, this one would have worked fairly well as a first chapter for the newcomers.)" Interesting! I thought people would be all, "Who is this person and why do I care that she's apparently seeing things?" Since it's only Laura talking... well... to herself, I thought it might be a bit dull. It's hard to predict these things.
"I find it a bit ironic that Laura's guilt about sleeping with John points out that he's a married man with children. I think that by acknowledging his marriage, she's mentioning his wife, but that's an interesting point. Laura's very sympathetic to John, and we'll learn more in upcoming chapters why she might not feel so guilty when it comes to John's wife. ;)
