This seemed like a good idea, and so I'm dropping it in now before the game starts so I can have it all set up. I'll be playing with the set up, I think, but I'm starting off using something similar to but not identical to the last such post I saw
here on Toshima.

How it works
Everyone begins with a Neutral rating. This means he isn't going to do anything to put his ass in danger over your character unless they're really bloody cute, but he won't go out of his way to make trouble for them, and may even step in if minor things come up. Anyone he doesn't know or doesn't know well is assumed to hold this rating. This means that, if your character is not listed, it is reasonable to assume that he isn't so terribly interested in them, but he doesn't hate them, either, and will probably play nice most of the time.
Once he gets to know you, I'll add you name and try to keep up with the different levels of feelings as things go on.
On the Good side of things, there are three levels above neutral: Accepted, Liked, and Family.
Accepted means he'll put himself into trouble for the person, but he's not going to risk serious injury or anything like that. He might share food or money if needed, and once liked, if your character is a prostitute, he'll make himself available on off hours to talk, play board games, do music, screw...whatever. He knows it's important to have a life outside of the client's bedroom, and once he likes the character, the character may be a part of his life in that way.
Liked means that now, the character might get asked, occasionally, to join him for tea or something else, and he'll probably put himself at risk for some pretty serious damage if it comes to that point. Oliver doesn't care so much about pain or damage, so don't think him getting stabbed in the arm or anything is a confession of undying love...and neither is an invitation to his bed. But it does mean he cares for the character a bit.
Family is a difficult one to achieve. Namely, at this point, he'll trust the character with real information about his past, and he won't hesitate to kill or die for that character if he sees the need. There is one person who was able to get into this category without being born into it, and she's now been dead for four years, so pray don't let your character hold their breath.
**Note: Prostitutes, at least while they are on duty, are treated as though they fall into the Liked category, even if he detests them. Protecting one whore keeps all of them safe, so he isn't doing it for one character as much as every character; if one can get hurt or killed without consequence, they all can. And presenting a unified face to the clients means the clients will come back. They come to be pleased and treated well, not dragged through petty fights. Anyone who disagrees will not be on his good list for long.
On the Bad side of things falls an additional three categories, below neutral: Tolerated, Disliked, and Detested.
Tolerated means he'll not chase you away or be particularly mean, but if the character's ass is kicked in front of him, he'll not stop it, may laugh, and very well might buy whoever did it a round, though he'd have to be in a foul mood for that. He might stop someone's death, in this category, if it won't put him in much risk, maybe even stop mutilation, but don't count on it.
Disliked means, first of all, he'll ignore the character most of the time. And Oliver is very good at this. This makes it not so bad, because he can be a bitch...but at this point, bother him too much and he'll go out of his little way to make life unpleasant. He'll pull strings, drop rumours, and otherwise go about making it quite bothersome to have to deal with him at all. Ignoring him usually clears this up; eventually. At this point, he may step in to stop death, because he does despise killing, but he'd have to have a good reason for it.
Detested means he'll take chances to mess the character up mentally if he can't do it physically. He'll do his best to make life hell, and he will not, will not, step in and stop a murder here, unless it's a whore on duty. He won't take out a contract on the character's life, because that's just messy, but he won't cry if it happens. There are only two people who've made it to this list. Both are now dead.
Finally, there are two things that I doubt will ever occur here, but there is the slim chance. The first is Love. He's not opposed to it, but he's been so torn up over it that he just doesn't fall into that 'trap' anymore. Add to that the fact that the only two people he's ever loved died to save his life before his eyes, and he's not very interested in such attachments. The other is Hate, and has occurred once in his canon. If he Hates the character, he will try to kill them. Himself. No matter the consequences, they will be hunted until he or they are dead. Period.
