[OOC] An open rant regarding the Awakening Venue

Feb 19, 2008 18:13

In the past few months, I've heard the terms "good for the game" thrown around a whole lot. In fact, some players who I thought were responsible have repeatedly said that things are "good for the game." Me, being a player of the Cam for several months have grown increasingly annoyed with players who use the term "good for the game" incorrectly ( Read more... )

As someone on the same side as you, I've come to a conclusion, if you're not on 'our side' then I don't care. I want to have fun. I didn't intentionally make sides, but other people did. You know what? Fuck them. Their game sucks. We've played in it for years, its time we had our fun. So... that's what I've been doing, ignoring the tards and having fun.

See at some point that plan seems to break down, given how belligerent/unethical some people are about this. Ignoring incoming fire only encourages more shooting.

I would kindly ask that this not become a complete isolationist policy.

I rather like RP with you guys - even when it gets atagonistic.

Since I'm pretty sure what this refers to...

2. "Holding trials and force-retiring PCs because of a fu**ed up proxy is good for the game."While I totally get that this is your journal and all, I really want to try and help clear this one up if I can. First off, the trial happening at all was agreed to by everyone involved with setting it up. The retirement was the player's idea, we just went along with it. I have several emails and the mediation log if you really want to see. Originally, he said he was wanting to shelf the PC for a bit, having felt burned out over the proxy. This was fine with us. We had no intention of forcing any permenant retirement, his saying he'd become an NPC was completely not our idea (didn't even get brought up till the last scene of the trial), and I asked if he was *sure* he wanted that, because obviously it's not our call whether that kind of retirement is reversible, and I didn't want to see him get upset if he wanted to undo it but couldn't. After all was said and done, the logs of the whole ( ... )

Obviously I wasn't involved with the trial (assuming you are referring to the Mage one.) But from observing both sides, One hand is not talking to the other hand. I don't want to know what both hands are doing, but its not communicating with each other. One hand seems to think they are doing what is "best for the chronicle" and the other hand feels like they are being bullied by OOC BS. So there you go. Where do you draw the line? Apparently there is one ( ... )

I feel your pain. I have a similar problem with the Requiem Venue where I am from. It's extremely frustrating to be told by various Cam Members that they heard that the new Regional Plot was built to deal with me and players like me.
