I know Noah. He was a RD at the forge for a couple years and left a year or so ago.
As for the Macs...
I'd go with the Mactels (Intel Macs), so you can use both Mac OS X 10.4/10.5 & Windows XP. If you have an Apple Store nearby, which you should, I'd spend some time there to get your hands dirty first. Macs are good for music and video editing, yet PC's are just as good too. Just giving somequick times before your people make a dive into Macs...
BTW, if you need Mac tips, let me know. I'll be Mac certified next month. (I know and other "big deal", just like my MCSE.)
