For Jim, this is the worst part.
Leaving a beautiful, naked Bones in a warm bed after a night of - let’s face it - amazing sex - not that it was all about the sex, but hey, amazing nonetheless; and knowing the other man would wake alone, is just about the only thing Jim hated at the moment.
He doesn’t want to leave, but he has no choice. The last thing he needs right now, so early into his Captaincy is more crap from the Admiralty, especially crap for sleeping with his CMO.
So he sneaks out of Bones’ quarters, as quietly as possible, and the last person he expects to bump into is Spock.
“Captain...” The Vulcan nods politely.
“I, um, I...” he’s stammering and he knows it.
Spock clears his throat.
“There is no need to explain, Sir.” He raises one eyebrow. “I estimate, in fact, that the probability of the crew being aware that you are engaging in sexual activities with Dr. McCoy is ninety-nine-point-seven percent, given that...”
Jim holds his hand up, cutting Spock off, and the Vulcan walks by, wondering only for a second why the Captain looks so perplexed by the seemingly obvious.
