I find that there is a huge amount of submission required in being Clergy. It's a difficult, and at times unrewarding job. Being a vessel, or conduit for Divinity, and/or possession work, in particular requires a type of submission and ego sublimation that is not easy. It is so very much, "not about me." The words aren't mine. The body isn't mine during that time, either. If I didn't have the grace learned from "letting someone else run the frak", I don't think I could do that particular job as easily or as well. YMMV, of course.
