Mmm, looks yummy, and very Anglo!

I love butter. I love it probably way too much. That is all.

It was fun and easy to make! And I loved that it was a Victorian recipe, in addition to being Hobbit inspired.

Heh. Then you should try this cake. It's definitely very buttery, if anything. Edible fandom!

I never knew what seedcake was either. I always had this vague idea it might be, well, seeds and honey and stuff. Sort of like the seed things you can get for birds. BUT NO. This looks delicious!

And I thought it was just my continental ignorance showing! I suppose people don't eat these a lot in the UK anymore, then?

Yes, honey would have been a good guess too. I don't know why I expected sharp and peppery, honestly.

Not anywhere I've lived. I only knew they existed because of old books like The Hobbit.

This cake sounds so good to me. I am in a tea and cake mood right now.

You should give it a try! It's pretty easy to make.

Although I personally prefer chocolate cake, haha. But then I prefer pretty much the chocolate version of anything.

I was also craving a chocolate/carmel cake which I made about this time last year. I am in no danger at the moment. We don't even have any flour in the house. This I may have tea and toast. (Sick with a cold and laden with self-pity.)

Aww, that sucks. I hope you will feel better soon, even without cake. At least there's tea!
