That is heart-breaking, but a wonderful fic. I like how clear it is it's duty, and how Merlin has to handle that, as well as handle their precious moments when there isn't just duty between them, but something else. Really interesting, intense, and sad. I enjoy the descriptions of Arthur's different moods and how that affects the sex (poor Merlin when it comes to the painful times, though).

Loaded as it is with Unfortunate Implications, I wrote this with the mind that Merlin actually does like Arthur. However, he really (rightly) resents what he "has" to do here and resents Arthur for it.
