I think you'll appreciate the editorial cartoon here. The page is badly designed so you'll have to scroll down a lot, but it's worth it.

NPR, bless them, tried to saturate. They made mention and had little vignettes or quotes every few minutes during yesterday's Morning Edition.

I went into the bookstore near my office and thought I was lucky there was still a copy of Cat's Cradle. At the checkout counter I said 'yeah, I'm here for the same thing as everybody else today, huh?' and the kid looked at me totally blankly and asked if it was required for a class. That made me a little sad.
