So this woman came into the shop the other day asking for help in selecting something that would be appropriate for use in a class. She's an English teacher and wanted to teach a class on poetry. She asked for suggestions for stuff from the Rap/Hip-Hop field, something that would be appealing to her class and get their attention and demonstrate ( Read more... )

You and Jersey made my day. And that's terrible in a sad kind of way. But it's true.

Really... though. What happened to the classics of T.S. Eliot and Wordsworth? I remember reading that Daffodil poem when I was what, ten? Sheesh. Will. Smith.

Modern poetry in our day and age ::grins::. That and Snakes on a Plane is a classic. Right up there with Casablanca, and North by Northwest.

Yeah, I don't know that most 10 year olds could be lumped into the T.S. Eliot fanclub just yet. But, still, you know, at least Shel Silverstein?

And I'm inclined to regard Snakes on a Plane as the Godfather of our generation.
For serious. We totally deserve it.
