my department would never do that! we would try to detain the snake, by covering it with a trashcan or something and then call an on-call snake expert to come pick it up.

obviously the situation was recorded, i would think that the officers that killed the snake would get into some kinda trouble...
its good that your department wouldnt harm it, i dont understand why anyone really would...any reasonable adult anyway.

right. ESPECIALLY when they're on film. sheeesh. i know snakes inspire fear, but that was such an extreme and inhumane way to handle it.
if that happened at my department, someone would be in major trouble, unless the snake had harmed someone, but even then, that's an inappropriate way to handle it.
of course, we do have a vet school and all kinds of animal related experts at our disposal 24/7.

yeah i wasnt so surprised that they killed it, b/c i know how scared people get over snakes, but still...ON FILM?!?!?!?! that was sooo messed up.
i was seriously in shock...staring at the t.v. with my jaw completely dropped. it pisses me off just thinking about it.

good to hear we have some good departments out there. :)
