An Unwelcome Surprise

Just got back from a visit to the walk-in clinic. (Try getting your regular doctor to see you Friday afternoon.) I have had something on my back that was really itchy for about two weeks now, but it was in the upper center so I couldn’t reach it and could barely see it. Oh dear. My sympathies!

I hope it wasn't a deer tick. If it was and you live in an affected area, you might want to get yourself tested for Lyme Disease as a precaution.

Thanks for your concern Naomi, and sorry this reply took so long. I was a bit worried myself. Thankfully the tick was too large to be a deer tick. Another factor in my favor is that area is not a Lyme Disease hot spot. As a precaution, the doctor gave me the antibiotics that are supposed to work against tick-born diseases. After a week the area is still a little red, but I don't have any other symptoms.
