I can officially say, as half of a stable couple (much more than say Jo and David..hehe), that Valentine's Day is a bunch of horse crap. Ted and I spent a grand total of $15 each on our presents and really neither one of us really gives a damn. I feel bad that I tried to make a big deal about it with Nick back in the day because the truth of the matter is that it makes no sense. Why should you celebrate being part of a couple for one day? Aren't you supposed to do that anyways every day when you're in a relationship (in some small way or another)? Or are we all supposed to hate our boyfriends, constantly ignoring them or treating them like shit, and then magically on Valentines Day its all puppies and rainbows again? Oh, whoopie fucking do, you get to buy flowers and chocolate and cheesy halmark bears, but don't you do some of that anyways at random points in a relationship (birthdays, christmas, etc)? I mean, I always thought that flowers and candy were for when the boy did something bad and needed a nice way to say that he
( ... )
LOL! You always crack me up. Puppies and rainbows!
You had to make a big deal out of things like that with Nick because he was incapable doing it himself. :P
*snert* Ice Cream Day. Isn't there like some bullshit "holiday" called Sweetest Day now or something? Like, a Valentine's tumor that sprouted up in the middle of September?
Awww, Petzee, V-day sucks. Everybody around me calls it "Singles Awareness Day", and although I haven't been single for it for the past four years, it's not that big a deal. Whomever I'm dating never bothers doing anything for it, with the possible exception of a guy named Tyler who gave me a watch the day BEFORE Valentines.
And don't you hate it when a site you've paid for changes the rules and screws you over?
