While I appreciate the offer, I'm going to have to decline for the time being. If you want to help me I don't want it to be because of a half-remembered promise from someone else's memories.

Also... I don't think it's a good idea to commit yourself to something like this while you're still getting a feel for the world.

The memory was only the impetus for the offer, not the motivation. Though I did not create the memory, it is a part of me, and with it comes a feeling of obligation, which I admit I could choose to ignore. I have not, however, because you interest me.

In time--far less time for you than you may expect--that will not be a problem.
